Silvia Canas Duarte

Silvia is a student in the Systems Biology PhD program at Harvard Medical School. Before coming to Boston, Silvia obtained a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering, a B.Sc in Microbiology  and a M.Sc in Biological Sciences from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. During her masters, Silvia worked with Dr. Juan Manuel Pedraza and Dr. Silvia Restrepo studying bacterial persistence. Her current research in the Paulsson lab is focused on understanding the dynamics of plasmid maintenance and partitioning at a single-cell level.
